The American Academy of Pain Medicine

Founded in 1983, the American Academy of Pain Medicine (AAPM) is the medical specialty society representing physicians and their team members practicing in the field of pain medicine. The AAPM is involved in education, training, advocacy, and research in the specialty of pain medicine.

American Chronic Pain Association

Since 1980, the American Chronic Pain Association (ACPA) has offered peer support and education in pain management skills to people with pain, family and friends, and health care professionals.

American Society for Pain Management Nursing

The American Society for Pain Management Nursing®’s (ASPMN) mission is to advance and promote optimal nursing care for people affected by pain by promoting best nursing practices. This is accomplished through education, standards, advocacy, and research.​

EMPainline

EMPainline is a resource for those striving to improve our understanding of pain and its management in the emergency department. EMPainline’s goal is to close the gap between existing knowledge and practice as well as to nurture professional growth within the emergency medicine pain community.

NIH Pain Consortium

The NIH Pain Consortium was established to enhance pain research and promote collaboration among researchers across the many NIH Institutes and Centers that have programs and activities addressing pain. The consortium supports initiatives, development of research resources and tools, and hosts events to promote collaboration and highlight advances in pain research.

PainEDU

PainEDU is an educational website for clinicians, teaching about pain assessment and management. This site is a comprehensive resource and is based on the latest scientific information about pain treatment.

Painfree-ed

Painfree-ed aims to create a user-friendly resource center for emergency physicians, residents, nurses, and pre-hospital personnel that will assist in combating acute and chronic pain in the Emergency Department.

PAINWeek

The PAINWeek communication platform represents a single point of access for busy practitioners spanning live, digital, and print communications. The platform will extend the energy and experience of our regional and national conferences throughout the year and expand to a wider audience of frontline practitioners with an interest in pain management.

PainACTION

The goal of PainACTION is to help people improve their self-management of their pain condition. Written with the help of health educators, pain experts, and people dealing with pain, this site is a resource to continuously reference.

Pain Medicine News offers extensive coverage of pain-related presentations at major clinical meetings and features articles on topics relevant to practicing clinicians.
